Xfinity, Snowmageddon 2019, Comcast Cowboy, Comcast, Snow

Last Thursday evening I made an appointment that next Friday morning at 11am with a potential customer in Gig Harbor. I knew that Snowmageddon 2019 was coming in later that day and wanted to get some work in prior to it all. Allowing me time to trek back to Puyallup before chaos set in on the roads.

Later that day we recieved word via text that due to the weather conditions our leadership wanted us to return home from the field for safety reasons. It’s great to work for a company that genuinely cares about it’s people.

This was around 4pm on Thursday. A few hours later after returning, I hear noise outside my front door. Only to catch my neighbor Chris, and my attempt to frame the moment as a Snowmageddon 2019 Meme.

So here we are Monday now with schools out. Potentially up to Thursday with current reports. Thankfully my wife, who works at Seattle Childrens in Bellevue wont have to make that drive up today either in all this.

One thing is for sure, this weather effects my ability as an Xfinity Ambassador to get out to the field. Driving is a key part of my role. I know others need Xfinity services, but it will have to be by phone today! Or until the snow melts.

So how did we survive Snowmageddon 2019 in the Gipson household?

Our Xfinity X1 video and internet services. Luckily our power stayed on through the storm. For others that were out power however, this is why I wanted to actually share this with you today. How you can access your Xfinity content through the Xfinity Stream app.

In addition my wife and I were able to repaint our bathroom downstairs during Snowmageddon. A resolution and goal we made this year to work on our home each weekend with projects.

Lastly we made a run out to Hobby Lobby and the roads were not that bad in Puyallup. Hopefully things will return normal soon this week for all of us.

The Xfinity Stream App lets you download content without a working Internet connection…perfect for those Snowmageddon days without power!

Xfinity just released this video a few days ago on their official YouTube channel. Although it may be too late for most if us now, but we can sure be prepared for the next Snowmageddon in advance as a result.

Special shot out to Brain Farchette whom I follow on Instagram. His pics were used in my cover photo of this artic;e with permission. Thanks Brian!

Be sure to follow him for a peek inside what life is like as a Cable Tech here in the Pacific Northwest.

With the Stream app, you can view live TV, get weather updates and even download shows and movies to watch offline in case you lose power.

Protect your devices with a surge protector

Plug your TV, modem and cable box into a surge protector to protect them from damage in case of lightning or a sudden power outage.

In conclusion

Although it’s Monday, I am still surviving the Snowmageddon experience like many others. Hopefully this week we can get back to normal on the roads again.

Folks without power, and X1 services are really having to weather Snowmageddon 2019. My family’s heart goes out to those of you who have been effected.

I’ve noticed that Xfinity works hard to think ahead of what our customers need during times like this. Take advantage of all the resources, and apps available to you to make your experience with Xfinity a lasting one.

The best part part about Snowmageddon 2019 is that these last few days have allowed me the ability to get my blog up and running again. Otherwise, I would have been out in the field knocking doors these past few days ignoring it like most times.

Please be sure to subscribe to my blog today. If you were effected by the storm, please share your experience in a comment below. I look forward to keeping this conversation going here.

Stay warm, and login to your Xfinity Stream app today!
